Kefir-Fueled Weight Loss: How I Shed 20 lbs Since April with an Anti-Inflammatory Lifestyle

    Sunday mornings at the park court. Fast breaks, jump shots, and a post-game kefir smoothie to help quell inflammation from all that running.

My Anti-Inflammatory, Kefir-Powered Diet

After discovering inflammation in my ankles last fall, I switched to a lifelong anti-inflammatory approach, centered around kefir’s gut-soothing benefits:

  • Daily Kefir Ritual
    Morning: ½ cup plain milk kefir blended with berries and a tablespoon of chia.
    Post-workout: Sparkling water kefir with a squeeze of lemon.

  • No Beef, Pork, Dairy (outside of kefir), Gluten, Potatoes, or Tomatoes

  • Low Sugar: Swapped fruit juice for kefir-based smoothies and herbal tea.
